Bitcoin2022 Conference in Miami Florida. Peter Thiel has an enemies list.
Missed this conference, missed a great deal of good seafood.
Hey, it’s GlobalJack here giving you another take on “noble” efforts and technologies in the bitcoin space.
The message is: be curious, be careful, learn about the crypto verse, buy some decentralized coins, keep a wary eye on the crypto space, especially on its vociferous proponents.
This year I missed a huge bitcoin conference in Miami Florida, an apropos venue especially for me and my shrimp loving tastebuds, alas! Next time definitely. I hope the bitcoin crowd continues to select warm climates somewhere near the Caribbean, or other islands so I could order a ceviche, or a sushi plate.
Do I wish I got into bitcoin in 2013? Yes. But, like most things in life you cannot have your cake and eat it as well. So, I am actually content with not buying bitcoin in 2013 because there are endless opportunities in crypto space still. I am learning more about various new technologies surrounding crypto and will be posting about that later.
Announcing…
(Share this post if you like what I am advocating for)
I posted an announcement a while back that I’m getting into crypto. I realized I needed to learn more, and find my space within the crypto verse. Buying some bitcoin is a good idea; however, because I am a technological guy I would like to possibly mine coins, too, not just buy and hold them. I’ve learned a few lessons in investing and speculating some on the stock markets. Easy does it.
I would like to be honest with you however. I don’t totally trust cryptos per se; I have a sorta crisis of conscience using such technologies, but lately I thought if you and I can turn the tools pointed against us and use such weapons to reduce government’s undue influence over our lives why not learn about crypto? I think we should approach this subject with some caution though, still. Why’s that?
Because, isn’t it ironic- and maybe dismal- that each internet technology started excellent for all only to turn into authoritarian’s playground owned by government, private CEOs, and the military complex? This last one is a biggie.
Google, YT, Facebook, Twitter, Social dating apps became tyrants. Seems like even Marky Zucky sent large sums to “help” the elections if you know what I mean. I am for free elections but not for large influencers the agenda of which we do not know.
Facebook once had a famous line that read on the hallowed walls of Menlo Park GenXYZ office complex: “what would you do if you were not afraid”, and Google famously declared “do no evil”. Whoops! All that righteous talk vanished. Cheap varnish wears off soon enough.
Currently, BTC has a lot of charm and righteousness, and it’s a very shiny and a bright idea with a “bright” future, but this is how they all began— Like a wine with a horrible finish. I hope this time bitcoin would, might, better the current technological cohort of social media apps.
If you are thinking that I am likening bitcoin with social media apps, you would be correct. This is because like YouTube, Facebook, and Google, Bitcoin is on the internet and thus future restrictions are not a stretch to imagine. Did any one imagine in 2018 that there would be such beastly censorship in 2020-2022 with reasonable people being kicked off YT and other social sites? Many of these people lost good profits. Money they made for themselves and their family, honestly was expunged nearly overnight. So, yes, bitcoin is on the internet, on a server farm, that is owned not by you and not by me. This hardware could be shut off as Peter Theil already mentioned. To his credit he did say that it is not really possible as it would mean huge losses for the ESG (Jamie Dixon, Blackrock CEO, CCP, etc, etc) crowd he called are enemies of bitcoin. However, technologies evolve and grow; they change, and soon enough some entity might be able to target local networks or find other means to mess with cryptos. I guess we will have to wait and see, but in the mean time we should learn these technologies and find some loop holes-we should become amateur hackers, and critically aware, astute, and informed citizens wherever you may live.
The Mistake…
I feel our mistake with “social” technology was that we didn’t know what the plans of the oligarchs were (we were also desperate to make money and get rich fast— quit work for the rest of our lives), for if we knew ( if we asked and really contemplated to what end all tech would lead us) we would’ve perhaps challenged the official story sooner and reversed their instruments against them, to the benefit of the many and self? Are we going to find ourselves in trouble with bitcoin down the road just like with Google and Youtube? History says yes, but I have some reservations, or at least suspending my final decision which is never really final is it? The price for freedom is eternal vigilance I recall someone saying.
Thiel, Peter…(I don't really trust this man yet, but I am listening. Same with Musky Musk)
Pete seems to be a bit more vociferous lately about government intrusion and the ESG gang- the environmental social governance clan, and the woke capitalist class of 2016-2022. I first heard Thiel with Eric Weinstein on Eric’s ThePortal podcast. Thiel comes across, as many of his caliber do, very quaint, shy, reserved, soft spoken, and he claims he is a Christian. I am not star struck my any means. Did you see that geeky picture of Theil and Musk when they were starting PayPal? Looks like Musk got a few cosmetic jobs done along the way for publicity I dare say. They were sloppy looking kids essentially. Smart, yes, but not without funding; and, most importantly, with connections to already established big players. So are they on the same team? Is this a continuation of Google 2.0, Facebook 2.0, now Meta, and Web 3.0? Are we continuing the same regime here but with different faces such as Musk and Thiel? I dare say this looks similar to me. And that is why I urge you to stay cool and attentive. In Eric’s words we need to “redistribute luxury”. A nice work if you can get it, but I would add redistribute luxury with economic and personal freedom, natural freedoms.
You can find Thiel speak here, Thiel. It is starting to look like the bitcoin crowd is looking to work toward some serious goals like government reduction and reduction in taxation. I’ll keep watching this trend. Bitcoin 2022 Conference had the look of genuine concern about losses of financial and private Rights, but that is yet to be tested and proven. I am not convinced.

Where is my bitcoin?
The picture is for perspective so that we are aware where the coins reside. They are on a block-chain web3.0 technology; inside of a building in Idaho, on a server farm, on a memory chip made by the likes of Micron, TSMC, Foundries, Fuji, and many other chip makers located on the Asian rim— most manufacturing happens in Asia these days. The square footage of TSMC in Taiwan is gigantic. It’s like 5 football fields. Their cafeteria could feed 1000 people at a time. Great Asian food. Immense variety.
Some guy on a server farm. Remember it is good to know where your stuff is at and who is managing your coin technologies. You should ask questions and call them once in a while. Learn along side them and critique the work as it relates to your daily private life, and business.
